Poolside Paws was born from a moment of pure panic and a deep love for our rescue dog. One day, she
slipped her lead, bolted, and fell into a drain. The water was low, and she was stranded on a narrow ledge
of mud, unable—or too scared—to swim to safety. Thankfully, the fire brigade rescued her, but those
terrifying moments made us realise something important: not all dogs instinctively know how to swim.
That experience stuck with us. We couldn’t stop thinking about how many dogs might struggle in water
simply because they’ve never had the chance to learn in a safe, controlled environment. That’s when the
idea for Poolside Paws was born.
We wanted to create a space where dogs can safely explore water, build confidence, and have fun. A
place where owners can relax, knowing their pups are supported, whether they’re first-time swimmers,
energetic dock divers, or just looking for a fun splash. More than anything, we wanted to build a
community—a place where dogs and their humans can bond, socialise, and enjoy the benefits of
swimming together.
At Poolside Paws, we’re not just running a dog swimming pool—we’re helping dogs feel safe in water,
